23rd Jan, a strange message...

[ In the middle of the day, something interrupts your usual radio broadcast. There's a short interlude of music that fades into the background. A deep, monotone voice, filtered and altered to be unrecognisable speaks. It's like something from a number's station. ]

Listen. V. 0...2...A...9... [ It drones on, listing numbers with some letters thrown in; enough for a Gear number, if the letters are taken for their value in the alphabet. It concludes with two more letters. ] ...W...S.

[ The jingle plays. It recites the code, starting with the letter V once more before the jingle rings out once more, and the radio returns to normal. If need be, the strange message occurs again, two hours later and interrupts Oak's Pokemon Talk Time Show.

In truth, Walter had used his Pokegear to try and get Sneak's information before he vanished, and remembering his previous co-workers there was only one who had the letter V foremost in their name. Still it paid to be cautious, even if Vanitas had questions and by now, Walter's number was not as private as it had been when he first abandoned Team Rocket. Thanks to Radio's influence, anyone ringing who doesn't have Rocket affiliations (and who isn't Felix or Jack) will find themselves on the receiving end of a polite 'The number you have dialed is not in use. Please check the number, and try again' message.

A laboratory. It's purpose was to produce evolution stones. That was accomplished by placing Pokemon in machines that forcibly drained the energy from their bodies, producing the stones.

It was not a painless process.

[ The second question...he leaves that blank for now. ]

Team Rocket's goal is for control and money. By artificially creating the stones and selling them to stores, they were turning a profit.

There are other labs. But that was the only one involved in that experiment, that I was aware of. By the time it was destroyed, it was producing fire and thunder stones. They wanted more types made.

Team Rocket's pay is pathetic regardless. I earned more than their monthly allowance working weekends at a Pokemon Centre.

I was among the first on the evolution stone project. As a technician I had log-in details and access to the databases. I can tell you some locations; the police were not interested in information when they handled me after I had the chips removed from my Pokemon. But the database will have accurate information on their projects. I would think they had wiped my details from the system...but they also did not notice what I did in the labs for several months prior to destroying them.

The username is WSullivan. My password was Assumption.

Oh, and your Pokemon are microchipped. Any Pokemon you have obtained or been given from Team Rocket will have one. It can influence their behaviour, and allows Team Rocket to monitor our movements. It is how they pinpointed my location when I was traveling in Mt. Mortar, and retrieved me for a meeting.

The Pokemon Centre can remove it. But they will know who you worked for and will involve the Jennies.

Their punishment is weak and they don't ask questions.

It is only a week of community service that they asked of me. It is an extremely weak punishment.

Team Rocket never noticed the other Pokemon I took from them either, much, much earlier than this. Even when I had that Pokemon accompany me through the base, they did not question it or realise it at all.

[ It was also the Pokemon that had slapped Vanitas in the face. There's a pause before he answers the other message. ]

She is scarred, but her strength returns to her everyday. Did they inform you of what she was?

The community service made me realize how they have never made any arrests or progress against Team Rocket.

She is.

[ Included is a picture. It shows a very generic background, a grassy route somewhere. But it wasn't taken for the scenery and there she is, wings spread and vibrant. While free of the labs, Alessa still had her scars and wasn't at full 'glow' yet. Interestingly, she seemed to be talking with Robbie the Bewear. ]

[ Walter went over their texts, thinking. It was strange to remember, how they had met.

But if this was genuine...he would need to keep in touch.
]

Be careful.
