Oh boy! Have you encountered comic books in Bavan yet? I've spotted a couple. Imagine your standard heroic superhuman being, and then putting all their life in little graphic novels.

And then have a lot of normal people pretending to be that person. And then gathering up all those people into one building so they can compare costumes and who has more knowledge of that heroic being.

I need to find some of these comic books. I bet they're hilarious.

I think so. I've been following a couple different stories just for the fun of it.

Then I realized there's people here who actually claim to have similar lives and it just gets funnier.

I seriously never thought I'd meet anyone as stupid and delusional as my other half.

This place is just full of them though.

I like to think it's a defense mechanism. If they've been fighting monsters all their lives the way superheros are supposed to, suddenly being the monster means they're not superheros anymore. It's quite the fall! So they feel the need to exaggerate their heroic qualities as if it will hide the fact that they're all murdering cannibals.

I couldn't have put it better if I tried. Everyone's so stuck on trying to be what they were before that they just end up making fools of themselves and starving. What's the point? We are what we are now. They need to deal with it.

It's not easy to do. Even I struggle with it. Being dead is a pretty sharp turn for me too!

But there's always perks, and it's better to think of the benefits than the drawbacks. You for example, now have a heart and can exist as something more than someone else's cut off bits. Who wouldn't prefer things this way with that behind them?

I assume these few people attempting to be vicious to you are from your own world. They're more energetic than I expected.

It's funny because a few of the people getting mad at me are the ones that always preach about looking on the bright side and finding the good in things. Why's it so wrong to do that now? Even if we are monsters?

Some of them, yeah. They're obnoxious is what they are.

Which is exactly why I'm throwing their advice right back at them. I'm not used to writing like this, it's taking effort. It seems to be making one of them very angry.

I can see why you want to get rid of your other half if he's anything like that. Not that I condone such things of course.

A little of both. He's always going on about believing in the strength of his friends and the light and stupid stuff like that. He's optimistic even when he's faced with certain defeat and it's gross.
