Due to the events occurring during the month of October, Vanitas will be transforming completely into a shade. His changes are as follows:
His body has fully transformed into a shadow-like state similar to this, though it's apparent that his armor is still there in the shape of his shadow form as well as the jaw piece he wears. His human form impossible for him to take again until he has practice with the concentration needed and when that time comes he will have a constant, shadow-y aura surrounding him. He can shape-shift into various forms that will be reminiscent of the Unversed he was responsible for creating back in his world, all on the smaller side until he gets a better handle on his abilities. The tendrils coming off his back are prehensile to the point of ensnaring others with ease and can he hidden by absorbing them back into his body if he so desires. His eyes are a glowing white now, teeth sharper (he has what looks to be several sets of pointed canines now) and he sports some rather sharp claws. With this new form also comes the ability to levitate, though for now he will really only be able to do it when he isn't thinking too hard about it or when his emotional state prompts it. Light, while having always been hated by him, is an actual weakness for him now and he can't handle large quantities of it at all. To survive, he now must consume human souls, something that he won't be all that torn up about and will happily go about ripping souls free. He also will be able to posses others for short periods of time and, in doing so, will be able to also take on their emotions if he wants to, something that can be done to a lesser extent by simply touching another.
Doubling in size during a fog, Vanitas's form will become even more inhuman during these times. His face will lack definition, being almost completely feature-less sans for his glowing eyes that are more narrowed than the round they usually are, though his distinctive 'hair' shape will be an obvious clue as to who he is. His mouth is still there but invisible most of the time unless he opens his mouth revealing his razor-sharp fangs, his mouth itself larger and splitting back either further on his head than it should. His arms are a bit longer than they should be in relation to his body, almost brushing the ground as he levitates almost all the time. His hands themselves will lose shape as well in this form, now narrowing into a point where his hands should be. (He can manipulate the length and size of his pointed 'hands' while in this form as well.) The tendrils coming off his back are a constant feature during the fog and there seem to be hundreds of them visible at all times in various sizes. Part of his abdomen is missing during the fog, forming a symbol reminiscent of the Unversed symbol, making it possible to see through his abdomen.
Thanks to his own ignorance and not listening to Tikbalang, Vanitas is going to end up turning himself into an arachne for two months. Specifically a bullet ant arachne. His skin tone is going to become a more reddish-black in hue with his actually ant parts being much darker. A lovely pair of antenna are going to be sprouting from his head which will make him oh so happy. His arms are going to become segmented and lengthen to become the first pair of ant 'legs' that still have finger-like digits but they are hooked like the end of an ant's feet and he only has three digits on each hand now. From his mid-section down his body will change into actual body of a bullet ant and have the other two pairs of legs attached to his thorax, each of these ending in a single hooked claw-foot, which then connects to the metasoma aka his posterior. Just like when he was a shade, Vanitas has a lovely pair of fangs but, on top of them, he also has a pair of mandibles that form off his lower jaw. These can easily hold people and even break bone if he applies enough strength, though it's a bit harder for him than it would be for other arachne. He has two sets of eyes now, one larger and one smaller; the smaller ones are his normal eyes and the second, larger set are compound eyes that sit off to the sides of his head a bit more on either side of his normal eyes. Along with this extra set of eyes comes night vision, which he's going to greatly enjoy. He has an immunity to poison now so sorry Naga folk! It ain't happening. Like all arachne he's able to sense vibrations because of his sensitive feet and, also like other spider people, he builds webs. Except, being an ant, he's going to be compelled to make them underground in tunnels. Vani is much quicker in this form though until he gets the hang of multiple feet he'll be a stumbling mess. He won't be fond of water. At all. So don't flood his tunnels. And he's also going to be extremely meticulous to the point where he'll just start organizing everything because EVERYTHING HAS A PLACE DAMMIT.
